Krka National Park from Šibenik

Krka's Lozovac entrance is about 15 km from Šibenik, a 20 to 30 minute drive, and the park's bus takes you down to Skradinski buk from April to October. Skradin is the other way in, with the park boat. Both are included in the all-sites ticket, which costs €7, €20 or €40 for adults depending on the month.

Šibenik is the closest town to Krka National Park, and it shows: the park's head office is in the town, on Trg Ivana Pavla II. Most visitors here do Krka on their own, with a car or the local bus and the official ticket, and that is the easiest way to see it.

This guide covers how to get there, which entrance to use, what the ticket costs in 2026 (and 2027), the hours by month, the swimming rules and whether to add Visovac and Roški slap.

The quick answer

Drive or take the Autotransport Šibenik bus to Lozovac (about 15 km, 20 to 30 minutes) or to Skradin. The all-sites ticket covers Skradinski buk and the other land sites for one day, plus the park bus from Lozovac or the boat from Skradin from 1 April to 31 October. Adults pay €7 (January to March, November and December), €20 (April, May, October) or €40 (June to September), or €30 after 15:00 in summer. The 2027 prices are the same. Swimming at Skradinski buk is not allowed.

How far is Krka National Park from Šibenik?

The Lozovac entrance is about 15 km from Šibenik, 20 to 30 minutes by car. The Šibenik Tourist Board calls it a half-hour drive to the falls.

There are four main entrances: Lozovac and Skradin for Skradinski buk, Roški slap (Laškovica) further upriver, and Burnum (Puljane). From Šibenik, the first two are the ones that matter. Lozovac has free parking all year for cars and coaches. Skradin is a small riverside town where the park boat leaves for the falls.

Which Krka entrance is best from Šibenik, Skradin or Lozovac?

Lozovac for speed and free parking; Skradin for the boat ride up the river. Both are included in the ticket from April to October.

At Lozovac, the park bus runs down to Skradinski buk and back, or you can walk the 875 m footpath. One guest summed it up: "We drove by car to the Lozovac entrance and then took the bus into the park" (Marion, Sep 2026). In winter, when the bus stops, visitors may drive down to the falls.

At Skradin, buy or show your ticket at the park office before boarding; it opens 30 minutes before Skradinski buk does. The boat runs during opening hours, and a 3,400 m walking and cycling path follows the river from Skradinski most if you prefer to walk. A guest's advice: "Take the boat from the Skradin parking lot to the park and back. (Otherwise, it's a 45-minute walk from the parking lot to the waterfalls.)" (Horst, Sep 2026). Check the last boat back before you set off on the trail.

How much is the Krka ticket in 2026?

Adults pay €7 from January to March and in November and December, €20 in April, May and October, and €40 from June to September (€30 after 15:00).

These are Krka National Park's 2026 prices for the all-sites ticket. Children under 7 go free. The 2027 price list keeps exactly the same figures, so a summer 2027 trip costs what it does now. The Krka prices post has the group rates and the annual Friends of Krka card.

What does the Krka all-sites ticket include?

Skradinski buk and every land site for one day: Roški slap, Manojlovac, Burnum, the Krka Eco Campus at Puljane and Krka - well of life at Kistanje.

The ticket listing on GetYourGuide offers three meeting points by option: Skradin, Lozovac and Roški slap. Book the one you will actually use. An 8:00 ticket lets you arrive any time and stay until closing; a 15:00 ticket is valid from 3pm, which is the cheaper summer option. Dogs on a leash are welcome, but not on Visovac.

Not included: the boat excursions from Skradinski buk to Visovac and Roški slap, and from Roški slap to Visovac. Those are paid on the spot. Bring water and food; there is a snack stop about halfway round the Skradinski buk trail. A guest noted "there is a place where you can grab a bite to eat" (Marion, Sep 2026).

In October the ticket costs half the summer price, and the boats still run.

Can you swim at Krka National Park in 2026?

Not at Skradinski buk: swimming there has been banned since 1 January 2021. The park allows it only in marked areas elsewhere, in summer.

Swimming at Skradinski buk has been banned since 1 January 2021, to protect the travertine barriers. The park's ticket listing says swimming is allowed only in designated areas at Roški slap, Stinice and Pisak, from 1 June to 30 September, so check the signs before you go in. The ban at Skradinski buk protects the travertine, which forms slowly from the river's minerals and breaks easily underfoot.

For a real swim, the sea is 20 minutes away: Banj beach is about 1 km from Šibenik's old town, and the Blue Flag White Beach at Solaris is about 6 km out. The Krka swimming rules post lists the marked spots and the dates.

What are Krka's opening hours?

Skradinski buk and Roški slap open from 08:00 to 20:00 in June, July and August, with shorter hours in spring and autumn and 09:00 to 16:00 in winter.

These are the park's hours for Skradinski buk and Roški slap. Manojlovac and Burnum close from November to March. The park closes on 25 and 26 December, shuts at 12:00 on 24 and 31 December, and on 1 January only the Lozovac entrance opens.

Is it worth adding Visovac and Roški slap?

Yes, with a full day. The 2-hour boat trip to Visovac costs €15 for adults; the 4-hour trip to Visovac and Roški slap costs €20.

Visovac is a small island in a lake of the Krka, where Franciscans have lived since 1445. The monastery holds an archaeological collection and a library with incunabula, and the park asks visitors to dress appropriately. The 2-hour trip from Skradinski buk includes about 30 minutes on the island.

Roški slap is the park's other big fall, 22.5 m high, starting with small cascades called the "Necklaces". A 1,360 m circular trail passes restored watermills, and 517 wooden steps climb to the Oziđana pećina cave. The 4-hour boat trip gives about 1 hour 30 minutes there. You can also drive to Roški slap; the all-sites ticket covers it. Boat trips run from 1 April to 31 October, children 4 to 18 pay €10 or €15, and under 4s go free.

How long do you need at Krka, and when should you go?

Half a day for Skradinski buk, a full day with Visovac or Roški slap. April, May and October cost half the summer ticket and the boats still run.

The Skradinski buk trail is 1,900 m one way round, past watermills, an ethno village and the remains of the 1895 hydroelectric plant that lit Šibenik's streets. A guest wrote: "In total, without a guide, the park took us about 3 hours" (Julia, Oct 2026). Add the boat or bus each way and lunch, and half a day is right.

In summer, come at opening time or after 15:00, when the adult ticket drops to €30. In April, May and October the ticket is €20 and the paths are quieter. From November to March it is just €7, but the boat and bus stop and Manojlovac and Burnum close. For a second activity nearby, the Čikola canyon zipline runs three lines, 1.4 km in all, over the next canyon. It is a separate attraction, not part of the park.
